    Wired connection

      Wired connection

      So my wireless connection works properly no probs, but the computer that i connect the router too with the cable can not connect to the internet? is there any reason for this that any of you oculd help me with?

      Could be many reasons.

      Is network adaptor installed and enabled?

      Symptoms?

      Just doesnt have a connection, it all worked OK with my other router though. should I uninstall the info for that router, then try again?

      Not sure what info you mean. Do you have a static IP setup?

      Im not sure, just when I installed the old router everything picked up the internet. But now with the sky one, only the computers accessing through the wireless connection pick it up, so im not sure why thats happening.

      Click start>run>cmd>ok

      type ipconfig>enter

      What is given as IP address and default gateway?

      192.168.0.5 is the ip
      192.168.0.1 is the gateway

      Back to the command prompt, type ping 192.168.0.1, enter.

      Do you get a response?

      Who was your last ISP?
