Got my pair of Solwise 85mbps from e-bay for 40.00. You can get faster ones for streaming HD but the ones I have are more than adequate for downloading even at the full 16Mb there is nearly 75Mb spare bandwidth.

PC world have them from 40 but the 85mbps ones are 60 for the pair.

      Are they easy to install?

It would be from Comet and they sell "Devolo" homeplugs

Just plug one into the router and the other wherever you like and gonnect the ethernet cables, I did mine in less than two minutes and that was mainly the time taken to run up and down the stairs.

The will work best in a normal single or twin socket and not on the end of an extension lead or adapter plug.

I have three, one at the router one at the PC and one at the x-box. You can just keep adding them as you require and most will work together.

So no installation or config is required?

The actual manufacturer website hints that its a 2 min install. Plug and play if you like. But it does say there is an installation CD. I take it this is a reconfiguration CD incase all your settings are messed up? Ie, the cd automatically configures your settings (if needed)

      Cheers

      Graham

Are you looking at these ones in Comet ?- Buy DEVOLO DLAN HIGHSPEED | Powerline adapter - Specification | Comet The cheaper ones are much slower.

Have a look at this from Broadbandbuyer, it will give you an idea what is available.-
