      boosting my siginal

      i have the sagem router in my room and everything is hooked up with wires but my sister uses wi-fi and cant get a siginal in the next room how can i boost my siginal?

      You can get home plug adapters that also have a wireless point on them, that way you could just move it around to anywhere you want. not just one specific room.

      you could even stick it on the end of an extension lead up the garden

      Yes but you will need two to start with, only one has to have the wireless extender.

      You plug the router into one and then into the mains and the other one (the wireless one) goes wherever you want it.

      I think you should try the following:

      See if your wirless adapter detects any neighbouring wifi and move to a channel as far as poss from the strongest.

      Try raising the router above furniture level.

      If practical, try placing router and computer near windows (if on same side of house) -- wireless travels better thru air than brick.

      Relocate any other wireless devices (cordless phone base, video sender etc) away from computer or router.

      I have three Solwise ones, cost about 60 from e-bay. I don;t have any wireless ones as I don't use wireless or have a laptop.

      Wireless extender version:-
