Sky Router - no power light

Hi
Newbie here but I have a feeling the answer's going to be faily quick and easy. My broadband box (white 108Kb/s one - which I guess makes it V1) has only the ethernet port lights (1,2,3,4) lit up when the power supply is connected.

The power and connection lights won't light up, and (obv) there is no connectivity through to the web or anywhere else, including the firmware page.

Is my box dead??

Re: Sky Router - no power light

Could be, try a full reset, find the little reset hole round the back of the router.
Use something like a ball point pen or similar to push the button in an hold for about 10 seconds.
When released the router may start up.

Re: Sky Router - no power light

Tried that a few times but maybe not for long enough. Will try again- thanks!

(I assume the power needs to be connected during a reset?)

Re: Sky Router - no power light

If it won't come back on check your socket with another device to make sure the socket is ok, if the socket is working call 08442 410515 and tell them you have no lights on the router at all, they will arrange a replacement to be sent to you.

Paul - I do have power, as I said the ethernet socket lights are working. Thanks, Justin.

Re: Sky Router - no power light

Take your ethernet cables out and see what happens to the lights. If its faulty Sky will replace it.

Re: Sky Router - no power light

I have already done all this, in every combination. The ethernet cables cause the numbered lights to light correctly when they are plugged in.

From other posts on this forum I believe Sky will not replace boxes more than a year old; I have had mine since Dec 06. Nonetheless I have opened a support request with them.

Thanks for all your help, appreciate the responses.

Re: Sky Router - no power light

Ring them, tell them the ligts on the router are not on and you do not have connectivity to the router, it will be replaced. OOW routers are still replaced as Sky expect you to use their supplied routers.
