Have a look in the technical forum, specifically,

Be aware that the T&C's of your Sky Broadband service state you will use the Router supplied by Sky, and only the router supplied by Sky. However lots don't, and even though I do I still downloaded my User Name and Password.

Re: Wanting to use my Own router - Help!!

Hi, been reading all the posts on using my own router, cos didnt have a blazes how to do it till i came on here, thanks a lot to all who have helped,

just posted to say i have just phoned sky about using another router explained which one and they said in their exact words " you can use that, but you wont get any technical help off sky for another router, you will have to talk to the manufacturer, but if you do phone sky back for help they will ask you to put their router back on" then went on to say " is there anything else i can help you with" to which i replied no and thanked him...

i suppose i can go ahead and use my new router now without going against the T&Cs

i have also writted down the date and time i made the phone call and the name of the man i spoke to , just in case they say i never contacted them
