New sky customer with crappy sagem router

i have just joined sky and they have supplied me with what i cannot describe other than the word "pish" sagem router,

plug and play is all very nice but when your router is in the next room and the signal you get is utter crap plug and play kinda aint that important,

i was originally with aol who supplied me with a good little netgear router, i then moved to tiscali who provided me with another pish speedtouch usb modem, however i was permitted to use my netgear simple by adding my username and password... AND now sky

ok enough ranting and crying like a baby question is

      Q. can you find out a username and password to use a third party router with sky?

( any i9nfo you need from me please feel free to ask/demand/scream at me/even give me some abuse aslong as we can get something sorted im easy ;P )

      thanks davie

Ok first off have you tried changing the channel on the Sagem.

Second you could just use your old Router for wireless, but again use the Sagem hence no breaking Sky's T'C's.

If you Really want to use another router look here.

      Hi Davie

      Welcome to SkyUser

The Sagem router has been 100 percent reliable for myself, and just like you I did have an issue with the wireless signal briefly. Changing the channel from 6 to 11 gave me a totally better signal. Have a try and see if any better.
