      Dissconnections since firmware upgrade?

      Hi all,
I've moved this from the stats. forum in case anyone can help here.

My SNRM is'nt too bad, ranging between about 6.7 and 7.5. However, since the firmware upgrade (done by SKY about a week ago) I've been getting disconnections (about 2 a day). I had just had one as you can see from the following:

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 7320 12778 0 2175 25913 00:10:47
      LAN 10M/100M 255922 177199 0 1137 70 83:05:53
      WLAN 11M/54M 31619 20848 0 111 14 83:05:46

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16379 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 25.0 db 14.7 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db 16.0 db

Before the upgrade I did'nt have all these dissconnections! Any suggestions anyone?? Do I need to worry about this?

      Thanks folks,
      Graham

PS. Could the upgrade have messed up the router. I've extracted my username and password and have a Netgear RangeMax that I could try instead for a day if anyone thinks that could help to diagnose the problem?

Yes. I've got an ADSLNation faceplate and the router is connected via Cat5 cable. Everything was fine until the upgrade?
      Many thanks,

      Re: Dissconnections since firmware upgrade?

      Hi Graham

I would try your other router and see if the issue continues. (its against the T and C's though)

If the other router is OK then it could be the upgraded FW, ring Sky they seem to be replacing them if any issues because of the FW upgrade. 1.1 million routers, its highly likely some could be damaged during the process. Good Luck!

      @NR
Do you know if this includes those who have updated manually, or are Sky washing their hands of them?

have you thought of trying your test socket to rule out a faulty faceplate?
