Sky router and wireless signal

Does anyone find the Sky Router, that is the Grey Netgear model very problematic with wireless? Although I am getting good connections speeds with my router syncing at nearly 8 meg on Sky Connect the wireless side of things leaves something to be desired e.g. turn the microwave oven on and the Laptops connection goes down, wife gassing to her friends on cordless DECT phone, Laptops connection is at best intermittent.

I have, previous to joining Sky, used a Belkin router and the BT HomeHub with this Laptop and neither the microwave or the phone had any effect on the stability of the connection. The signal strength is excellent throughout the house - a full five bars.

Re: Sky router and wireless signal

maybe you could ask the wife to get off the phone and cook you dinners (not just heat them in the microwave) and all your problems will be solved

Edit: above post was just a joke, no offence intended

......or hook your Belkin up to the Netgear by short ethernet and use it's wireless capability.

I know I could daisy chain the Belkin but really my point was - is this normal behaviour for this particular brand of router - it really shouldn't be asking to much to have a stable wireless connection.

Channel 11 on all three routers though have tried different channels on the Netgear without any improvement.

Some find it OK, others are the same as you, it depends a lot on what you are used to.
