      Netgear Router (V1) Woes!

      Wondering if anyone can assist??

I upgraded my Netgear router last week with the latest sky firmware and it went perfectly. No issues at all, however today I can't seem to log on to the router to get to the admin pages.

When it prompts me for a username and password it won't accept the defualt admin/sky nor any combination there in.

Anyone have some advice they can give??

      Cheers

That's strange - the upgrade shouldn't change your username or password, regardless of whether you've changed the password from its default value sky or not. So if you changed the password while it was running the old firmware, it won't have been reset to sky.

I reckon you'll have to reset the router to its default values. Get an unfolded paper clip, or something like that. With the router powered up, push the reset button on the back of the router (you'll see recessed into a little hole adjacent to the power connector) and hold it in until the tick light comes on. This should reset the user name and password back to admin and sky. Unfortunately it will also reset any other settings changes you made on the router.
