      Replacement Router Keeps Dropping Connection

I had an issue with my old black Sagem router that the thing wasn't booting up correctly ever time it was turned on. Sky agreed to send my out a replacement.

I've received a white netgear router now. Since connecting it up tonight i've had constant connection drops. The longes i think i've been on is around about half an hour without it droping but on average it's happening every 10 minutes. Is this in connection with the stuff i've been reading about the firmware upgrade? Is it worth me going back to sky and saying that the new router they have sent me keeps dropping or is there a fix that i've not managed to see on the forums?

      Cheers

Sky have probably shipped you out the White Netgear without the latest and greatest firmware. Look elsewhere on this Forum and you'll find a very busy thread about the latest firmware upgrade that is currently going on by Sky. If you leave your router switched on permanently it will pick up its update when its your turn.

If you go back to sky to moan the odds are you will be capped and once the router firmware update hits you will have to call them back to get the cap sorted. Unless its making your connection unusable I would tough it out till the firmware upgrade hits. Might be worth posting your stats too.

Think it might have been a glitch as it hasn't dropped once today, touch wood!

      ^^^^^^
What would that be? I think the Richone wanted to know if it had been sent to you with the newer FW.

Re: Replacement Router Keeps Dropping Connection

When they replaced my black router with a white one, they told me to keep it switched on, I wondered why, but after reading your posts I know now it was to upgrade it.
