      Hi All,
I'm a new member to the site and a new sky broadband user. well still havent managed to get online. I received the black router and my line was activated on the 14th of march. Although it didnt work and was on the phoen to tech support for ages. In the end the said i had received a faulty router and have just received the white router this morning. In the box was the router and the power cable nothing else. I cant be bothered to phone sky. Can anyone help me with obtaining the relevant drivers and installation stuff.

      Cheers in Advance

should not need anything, just plug router into power then connect to PC with the cable supplied and you should be online ?
what happens when you plug the router into the power (which if any lights come on ?)

      Re: Sky Router Help

192.168.0.1, user name admin, password sky. Basic checks to make are:
Plug into main socket via filter, any other socket in use on the line must also have a filter on it unless you are using a pre-filtered master socket.
Always test via ethernet cable if possible.
See if you can log into the router settings page via the above IP address.
If you cannot then click start menu, click on "run", type in cmd and press enter, in tthe resulting black screen type ipconfig /all (ipconfig (space) /all ) and press enter. See what IP address you are getting against your LAN adaptor.
Also check in Internet explorer, tools, internet options, connections, LAN settings that you have not got any proxies set.
One other thing, any firewall software installed on the pc?

      Re: Sky Router Help

Have you set up Vista to connect wirelessly? If not do this-
      1. Click Start button, and then click 'Connect To'.
      2. Click the wireless network to which you want to connect, and then click Connect.
      3. You may be prompted for a Security key. You will find this on the bottom of the router, all CAPS no numbers.

You can find full information on how to connect Vista in THIS article.

I would not advise using the Wireless access list at this stage, although it does provide extra security once you are set up.
