Help please setting up Router, Phone and Fax into one wall socket

I need to set up my Sky Router, a fax and my phone all on the same wall socket. I am encountering problems as they all seem to interfere with each other and just when I think I've solved it I find that it's not right. I have if required a dual adaptor to allow two phones to be plugged into the wall socket and two micro-filters if required plus an adaptor which plugs into the wall socket for both phone and modem and a further adaptor which fits the wall socket and allows the modem or fax only to be plugged into it. It seems to me that the phone and fax need to be plugged into the same socket as they share my number but the fax has a modem plug not a phone plug. Please advise the correct set up to enable all to work OK.

Secondly, does anyone know if 08000-531706 is a number that the Sky Plus box dials out to. When I was encountering problems my phone line was dialling out to this number and as it is an Easynet number I asumed it was to do with Sky but does anyone know for sure?

      Many thanks in advance

This is wrong! The fax should have a BT plug on it so it plugs into the filtered side of the ADSL filter. You need an adaptor like this which converts an RJ11 plug to BT on the end of the fax lead.

Then, the correct setup is Wall Socket - ADSL filter - double adaptor (splitter) in phone side for fax and phone, router in ADSL side.

If your fax machine has a socket for an additional telephone handset then you can use this for your phone instead of the double adaptor.

      Hope this makes sense.

It is always best to have the filter plugged directly to the wall socket. I think your layout should be something like -

Wall socket > Filter - Router and two way adapter to phone side > fax connection and phone or extension

Edit - Fax machines often have an RJ11 or American type plug, which fits into a convertor to the standard British 431A and 631A type plugs. I actually have a phone with a similar connector.
