      Internet disconnects after call making

I moved from Sky talk to BT for my home calls. However, after that a strange thing started. Whenever, we make a call to someone, the internet disconnects though router will sho a constant internet signal. When we reboot the router and laptop, things will start working but this has now started happening everytime.

When i called sky fo this, thy said evrything is fine at their end. I am using a splitter given to me by Sky for spitting the data and voice at the single socket. Can anyone give advise on this?

Re: Internet disconnects after call making

It sounds as if you are losing your PPP session.
Try logging into your router status page (http://192.168.0.1) (admin / sky) and checking you have an IP address under the ADSL port section.
Make a call, hang up (to simulate the fault), then refresh the status page to see if you still have that IP address.
If you don't then this is the problem, the new routers show this with an orange Internet light.
Try swapping the filters, if it persists, get back onto Sky again.
