Re: Sagem router port forward problem

      Hi,

I have wasted the best part of today trying to get the port forwarding working on this bloody Sagem router all to no avail. I have read that some others have been able to to get it working but, I have tried everything. I was simply trying to set up my personal FTP server.

Also, the UPnP is a load of rubbish as although it is set as enabled it is in fact not enabled - and when you run BaUPnP it says it is not running also.

I agree, Sky tech support can be poor - some of them don't seem know anything at all about the system they are advising on, in fact I would say that some of them don't even appear to know much about IT generally; is this a deliberate tactic by Sky because they know that if they staff their call centres such that people can't get a proper resolution to their issues, then people eventually stop calling them.

Anyway, I have got a tactic for getting a new router. This Sagem router has a 'bug' which causes it to throw up the log in authentication box randomly whilst you are browsing, sometimes this can occur many times a day - all you can do is reboot the router - I spoke to TS and they know of this issue. Anyway they said if it did not stop doing it then they would send another router - so I am going to demand a Netgear router stating that the Sagem is not of merchantable quality.

Oh and as for that guy from Sky stating that the router does its job - well why have settings such as port forwarding available in the router if they don't work?

Sorry for the rant but I am fed up. Has there been any developments on how to get the username and password from the router?

Works fine for me no trouble. As per other thread please if you can supply a screenshot of the information you have put in.

Has there been any developments on how to get the username and password from the router?
Yeh, same time the Ark was around.

A simple search on here would help you on this subject.

Re: Sagem router port forward problem

      Hi,

Thanks for getting back so quick.

Firstly, I know that the FTP server is running, it is set up on 192.168.0.7, and I can log onto it from my LAN no problem.

I have disabled Windows Firewall, and have no other firewall software.

Following some other advice from this forum I made sure the IP address of the FTP server is outside of the DHCP IP range.

thanks for your time and help.

Re: Sagem router port forward problem

You cannot access it via your external IP as you are behind NAT.

You would only be able to access it via 192.168.0.xx Where as I am on the other side of your router, so it would work.

      Glad you're sorted out.
