      Question 2 modems, one account?

I may be being a bit thick here, but I was wondering if there's a way to get a wired connection using two different modems/routers at the same time on the same account?

I've got a laptop plugged into my Sky router, in the lounge. I also have a pc upstairs in the bedroom which is currently connected wirelessly, but there's a phone socket right next to it and I was wondering if there was some way I could connect to the same phone line and Sky account using an old modem so I can have a wired connection on that too?

      Re: 2 modems, one account?

You can't have both switched on at the same time. An ADSL router effectively uses beeps and tones just like old-style dial-up modems, the only difference is that those beeps and tones are at frequencies far higher than you can hear. So you can no more have two ADSL modems running at the same time on the same line, than you could have two old-style dial-up modems.

then you can't do it...unless you have a longer ethernet cable to run to the XBox...

either way, you'll need to invest...
