New black router with firmware V2.02.34

hi i recieved this router a few day ago and got connect ted today.

my problem is i was told by sky that i could use my own equipment when i signed upi currently own an adsl N1 netgear adsl router and its only 3 months old. the wireless sky router does not reach as far as the n1 so i cannot use the sky service unless i go out and buy a n1 acss point. more money.

as i was blatently lied to by sky several times by people ranging from tech suport, customer service and sales i wonder if this box with the fimware is hacked yet?

all i need is my username and password.

i tried telneting in but it asks me for login and password tried admin / password. incorrect

      any ideas

any help will be greatly appricated

      thanks

There is nothing to stop you using the Sky router as the gateway, turn off the wireless and connect the N1 to use it's wireless capabilities.

Re: New black router with firmware V2.02.34

Somone needs to write a decent tutorial to explain how to do that. It's something that crops up time and time again, and would be particularly useful if Sky started clamping down on people using their own router.

Sounds like a job for Tom (aka HSNetwork, aka Mr Flash Tutorial), if you ask me.

i don't think they will throw anyone off for using their own router, they will lose a lot of custom if they did and it goes against EU policies as companies cannot dictate what equipment you use.
