Re: Does sky router support home networking i.e share files and printers

      Hi again.

      Still having problems.

I have followed all steps correctly im sure. The wireless isolation is not ticked. My firewalls are all allwing each other. I am using windows xp. I am usually quite good at sorting these things out. The only way around this i can see is to purchase a wireless print server. My network is called MSHOME by default but have changed it on both pcs to the same. I am really stumped. I cannot see why my desktop should not be showing when im on my laptop and when im on desktop laptop is not showing. Any more ideas/steps i should take before buying print server. Thanks

What makes you think that either of your PCs is going to be able to communicate with a wireless print server, if they can't communicate with each other?

Have you tried completely shutting down all firewalls and get the network up and running without that complicating things?

And when the firewalls are down run the home networking wizard on both PC's, I used the "this computer connects through a residental gateway" option on the wizard.

When you restart drop the firewalls again (if they came back up) and see if the network is now there.

As said earlier there is no point getting a wireless print server as your PC's won't see it anyways as the network doesn't seem to be configured correctly.
