Is it a Sagem or a Netgear. I think it says on the base

Good. If its like mine you will have a rock solid connection. The only time I have anything to do with my router is when I dust it, about once a month
I dont know about it's wireless performance, its prob poor but that is more a statement of fact about wireless in general, rather than a sideswipe at the Sagem

^^^^ I am lucky enough to have both, still hard to say which is best. Both are solid, I thought I had my Netgear connected, yet I had the Sagem on there for several weeks and did not notice. Obviously ethernet now on all my equipment.

Re: Warning About Sky and Routers

i'll give you 2 good reasons to extract your username/password:

      1. wireless "N"
      2. gigabit ethernet.

neither of which are available from a bog standard "sky" router
(whoop! i have both! look at my blazing file transfer speeds and streaming hd video! gasp at my wireless range and speed!)
curse you sky for your excellent speeds, but rubbish customer service!

p.s. not a cheap/conveinient option, the "netgear" gigabit wireless "N" router doesn't have a modem built in! so you have to buy one of them too!

      Bugger.

Be warned, get your passwords from your routers or you could be in big trouble. Three people told me on three occasions that I had to leave Sky. Believe me, I would happilly but the line has just got stable (took months to tech support for them to finally get it sorted) and 100 pounds for a new router was better than 15 a month extra for broadband.

      Again, GET YOUR PASSWORDS ASAP.

Thank you but what utility and where can I find it ?

      Thank you.
