Tried the test socket, still drops.
Phoned Sky again and they put me through to the tech chaps who are sending me a new router even though i told them it still disconnected on several routers i have tried (which worked fine before saturdays problems).

They said he has to be the router... which i disagree.

Today it is worse than ever.... its staying online for between 5 seconds and 2-3 minutes, sometimes not enough to even get on here and type.
Its staying disconnected for about 30-40mins each time.

If they have put it down to a faulty router there is nothing you can do until you try it and find it makes no difference. It looks like you have a fault either on the line or at the exchange. Sky will not call out BT until they prove it is not the router. Complete waste of time and money(for the new router) but that is how they do it.

Re: Router Freeze, Loss of Connection Possible Fix

      hi, newb here
but seems i have a similar problem to some of the others here.
I havve the newish sky d-link router and at 1755gmt everyday til about midnight i lose most of my connection.
Ive tried using different splitters/disconnecting the phones, reconnecting them spereately. Ive also tried rebooting the router and restarting it after ten mins or so.
but as you can see bleow my speeds still suck at the busy times.

I always find the people like you are always the best 1st stop , as sometimes you can get alot of ermmm avoidance from the actual companies involved.
Ive had a quick look for a diagnostic tool/line crc etc checking tool for this router but im a bit thick.
My next stop is too actually phone sky and ask them if thers a problem with noise or wether they know of anything.
Any and all help is appreciated

I have just posted this reply to another unfortunate soul who is in the same position as you -

"You do not have the same problem, your problem is that you are on Connect. If you had visited this site before you would not have touched it with a barge pole. It is probably the worst broadband you could possibly have. Have a look at this thread for a start -
