When is the Update coming along???

I have a White Netgear (V1 I assume) Router, that has an unbeliveably high dB at nearly all times in the day.

Will the updated firmware "attempt" to resolve some of the issues surrounding noise etc?

Also I hear the V2 is loads better, is there anyway I can get my hands on one of these without paying a fortune??

Re: When is the Update coming along???

An "unbelievably high dB" (I assume you mean noise margin?) suggests your line is capped. A new firmware won't change that.

Yes the new firmware appears to give better stability on problematical lines but it can't work wonders. If your line is really poor you need to fix it.

The V2 routers have firmware that is similar to the new firmware to be released "soon" for the V1.

Hellfire post your stats and connection details (extensions in use, master socket, filters on sockets etc) and we can have a look but the new firmware won't fix a physical line issue.

      Thanks Paul,

I have taken matters into my own hands now:-

Hopefully this will improve things, but if not I will gladly post all my stats so you can help me sort this out.

      Can this thread be closed?

Sorry but if your db is high and your connection is rubbish a new router won't fix it, posting your stats is the better option rather than costing sky money for no reason.

^^ Well said we could of saved you and sky the hassle of having to deliver you a new router if you posted your stats. Some of our more clever members could of quickly pointed out the problems. TBH a high noise margin can be brought down with mognuts utility.

No, not if it is as a result of being capped it can't.

The OP's profile says he is on connect so I don't think mognut's utility can change the SNR
