Hard to say without getting detailed stats, normally if errors do start building up you will see a router reset at some point.

if you are still in the test socket, then it may well be interfence on the BT line (somewhere between you and the exchange) not sure what you can ?

      Re: Router disconecting

I just fitted my new xte - 2005 faceplate and the stats were the same. I have left my router on for 2 hours since fitting it and my stats seem to have gotten better:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16383 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.0 db 8.8 db
Noise Margin 10.2 db 13.0 db

Hopefully they will go back to normal

      Re: Router disconecting

you will have to keep the router page open and watch the noise margin, i can think of no reason with your stats for the disconections (apart from masive intreference spikes between your house and the exchange) also do you know if the disconections happen at the same time ? is there a pattern ?

just to check, are you wired or wireless ?

      Re: Router disconecting

Seems to happen after a few days then all of a sudden seems to drop then seems to be okay again:

My latest router stats show my connection seems okay when only a few hours ago it was very unstable:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16383 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.0 db 8.4 db
Noise Margin 12.0 db 17.0 db

When i spoke to the CST the first time he said there have been major problems at my exchange but they should have been resolved. This is about the time when i first started disconnecting. But i asked him if it could be a problem at the exchange and he said no.

Im running both wired and wireless and its the same result for both

      Re: Router disconecting

      UPDATE:

Recieved my new router and here are my stats:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16383 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.0 db 8.4 db
Noise Margin 12.4 db 16.5 db

So far no disconnections but the thing is when i have looked at my connection up time it goes from about 1 hour to 34 mins or something shorter. The thing is i have not actually disconnected from the internet. Is this a bug with the new routers (SAGEM).

      Thanks
