sky have reduced my speed, they said that it ws because my phone line couldnt cope with the speed, so it was reduced from 8mb/s to 5mb/s.

Re: netgear sky router problem (very annoying)

Wheny you say it was alright for the first 6 months, how much usage did it have? Is it that the problem has always been there but you have only just come across it?
I have just swapped out my Netgear for a speedtouch due to:
      1) The line dropping out every ferw days
      2) Whenever the PC was powered off and the router left on, if I powered up again it would require the router to switch off and on.

Now I have no problems at all. Seems to be a problem with the DG834GT in certain cases.
