      Sky Max - Which Router???

I signed up to SKY MAX broadband earlier this month, was activated on the 19th however only received the router today. From what i've read and also see from people in my street I should have received a Netgear Router but instead i've received a sagem.

Can any confirm which router i should have received on the MAX product.

Also ive only my modem is only connecting at 8096 kbps however other people in my street are connecting at round 16058 kbps. Is this anything down to my router or am i just unlucky to have the longest/poorest line in the street?

could you post the router stats, someone may be able to see if anything stands out in your stats
may also be an idear to do a comparrison from your test socket

Re: Sky Max - Which Router???

I believe new accounts will receive one of the 2 new routers, either a netgear or sagem. Some of the team here have been testing both with favourable results so I wouldnt worry about it. As for your connection we would need to see your router stats to comment, I normally post a link to help people extract detailed stats from the router but it doesnt work with the new ones - maybe someone can advise how to do this.

Re: Sky Max - Which Router???

^^^ I understand the new black v2 routers can be either Sagem or Netgear.

As for your speed, you need to post your router stats for someone to have a look at the attenuation and noise margin to see whether you should be getting better.

EDIT: beaten to the draw again - twice!!

      ADSL2+ Speed Test
We estimate your line is capable of between 7mb to 8mb broadband on an ADSL2+ service.

      SkyUser - ADSL2 Line Speed Checker - upto 24mb

That's about right for your stats.

Judging by your attenuation, the others in your street must have much much shorter lines than yours. According to Sky Users checker
      ADSL2+ Speed Test

We estimate your line is capable of between 7mb to 8mb broadband on an ADSL2+ service.
