    Redirecting issue?

    This is a discussion on Redirecting issue? within the Sky Router forums, part of the Sky Broadband help category; my friend said there is a problem with my redirecting ports something like that, because were running a Server 127.0.0.1 ...

      my friend said there is a problem with my redirecting ports something like that, because were running a Server 127.0.0.1 is working, but when i try my wan ip it didnt work....

      and i just want to know if i reboot my router then my ip changes do i need to do the static ip??? if i need to do this is it much better and safe if i do this on my router configuration? in LAN IP SET UP? and address reservation?

      The 127.0.0.1 address is regarded as "special". It always "loops back" to the computer which you are currently using. As such, it can never be used by one computer to refer to another computer.

      yeah, but when i replaced 127.0.0.1 to my wanip my server didnt work....if i used 127.0.0.1 i cant host to others...they cant connect...

      Erm your WAN IP will change whenever you reboot the router, you're on ADSL. You'll need to do something like this
      https://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/
      if you want to try and make it look like a static IP or you will need to go to a provider and PAY for a static IP.

      so i need to do the dynDNS dhen host a name? static Ip isnt that need to config on net connection property summin like that?

      does dyndns has expiration date?? or is it totally free?
