      losing speed

      Hi
Any one any ideas.I have just changed my connection set up ie previously I was connected to my master socket by an extension phone cable-BT master socket-15 meter adsl extension- filter -router-pc with this set up I was syncing at around 4.8 meg & getting speeds of around 4.2 meg(quite good I thought) I have now changed this & effectively done away with the adsl extension & replaced it with a 15 meter ethernet cable so my router now plugs directly into the master socket & is syncing at over5.5 meg yet my speeds have dropped to 3.5-3.8 ish curiously when I first tried I got 5.2 meg then nothing like that since. any ideas anyone?.

      Re: losing speed

Can you take your router stats with your present set up, then plug in to the TEST socket, behind the master faceplate, reboot your router, then take your stats again. Basic stats will do at this stage, post back with both.
