      Wireless connection to router problem

Help please to all you technical wizards!

I have just bought an Acer Aspire 9304 wi fi enabled laptop for my daughter. I have sky broadband and have one of the white wireless routers. I have tried to link the laptop via the wireless connection to the router using the laptop connection wizard (running on vista by the way). When i get to the stage when the wizard asks for the network key supplied by sky I enter the 8 character key provided. The wizard tells me it needs a 5 or 13 character network key which I don't have.

      Anyone any clues?

Make sure you have selected WPA-PSK security in the laptop settings.

I'd have thought the wizard would cover that option but if not then you'll have to set the connection up manually - it's quite straightforward.
