Iv contacted sky, thay say its how the computers are set up and its nothing to do with them.
Iv since Manualy set all ip addres'es on all the computers as i read on the internet my problems could be becues of ip conflicts.

All computers work on the internet if i switch the router off wait 10mis and swicth back on.

Re: Router crashes when connecting more than one computer

I would guess that errors on your line are causing the drop outs. You don't say what router you are using, but if it is the old (white) one post your detailed stats, where the errors can be examined. If you have the new router (black) then it is not yet possible to get the detailed stats from it, so all you can do is post the stats from the Status page button. These do not tell you much but they may help. In the meantime you should try plugging the router into the Test socket, behind the Master faceplate. If you do not have the type with a removable plate, plug into the master socket and unplug any phones or boxes you have plugged into extensions.

If you read the stickies in the Cable and Faceplate Section you will find plenty of information on how to improve your internal wiring.

Re: Router crashes when connecting more than one computer

do youknow what speed you were on with orange and what speed you have with sky ?
reason i ask is with some other providers you may have had a 2 meg connection and with sky your connection may be higher (around 8 ?)
because of the higher speeds your internal wiring may not be up to the job where as when you were on 2meg (if thats what you had) there would have been more leeway

could you post your detailed stats

Re: Router crashes when connecting more than one computer

Looking at the abridged stats, you should be able to sync higher than that, also your SNR is getting low, which signals a drop. I suspect your wiring is at fault. If you have not done so, disconnect the wire from terminal 3 in the master socket and any slave sockets connected to the same line.

As has been suggested, post your full detailed stats, you have been running for over 24 hours so you could take them now and they would give an indication of what is happening.

If you have your other PN router, it might be worth trying that, it would give a comparison at least.

Re: Router crashes when connecting more than one computer

Arrgh, you have rebooted your router! Your previous up time was over a day so would have shown up any faults. You will have to try to run for 24 hrs then post again.
