The symptoms you describe could be the UPnP "bug".

If you haven't already, turn off UPnP in the router and then reboot it.

Your router stats are really terrible and also could be contributing to your problem. See the cabling and faceplate help forum for info on diagnosing and fixing line problems. Fix these and you'll easily double your router sync and will enjoy a more stable connection.

      Re: Router stops connecting

is the same with upnp turned off, it has only been like this for a couple of weeks and everything was fine before!! 4.5 Mb's is the best possible speed i can sync at with being so far from the exchange but is more stable all day when synced at around 3.8!!!

      Any other possible reasons?

      Re: Router stops connecting

You're not "so far from the exchange" as all that - plenty of people would swap with you for your attenuation.

There are many possible causes for disconnections it is impossible to diagnose remotely. However, apart from the UPnP issue and the router overheating, most of the other causes fall into the line noise/interference bucket (which includes faulty cable/filter).

As I said before, your router is only syncing at less than half its potential. You definitely have a noisy line. You need to fix that before you can eliminate other causes.
