      use router with another ISP?

      hi,

i have given up with sky. they have caused nothing but problems for us...

is there anyway that we can use the router they provided with aol broadband?

we are not very good at technology...we have tried to follow the guides about getting firmware...but netgear gave us a list of different versions available, we tried 3, but each one said that it was the incorrect file when we tried to upgrade the router.

could someone let me know easily how to set up this sky router for use with aol broadband?

the only other thing i am wondering is....is the router now mine, or will sky be requesting it back?

      many thanks,

      rosielee

      Hi Rosie

The router becomes your property according to the Sky Terms and Conditions.

Theoretically the router can be used on any ISP, but you would need to revert the FW on the Sky router.

Sky User - The unofficial support forum for everything Sky! Flashing your router firmware

Shows you how to complete the flashing of the router.

You will then need to input the AOL settings afterwards.

If you get stuck, you would be better asking for help in the Technical Section.

      Good luck with AOL.
