      Connecting Wireless Soundbridge??

I wonder if anyone clever out there can help me with something.

I have a Pinnacle Soundbridge used for sharing music files over my wireless network. Before joning sky this worked perfectly with my previous router (which was exactly the same netgear router) and I could stream music from my laptop to the soundbridge.

Since using the Sky router I am unable to do this anymore. The soundbridge will connect wirelessly to the router (which is evidenced by the fact that it will play internet radio) but it no longer finds the music libraries on my computer.

I have reconnected my old router as a test and the soundbridge then immediately finds the misuc library on the laptop so this leads me to believe that its something to do with the router.

So, I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what is different with the sky router and what I need to do / change in order to make it work.

      Thanks for any help.

      Re: Connecting Wireless Soundbridge??

It's not that the Soundbridge can't see the files, it is the music server (software running on the PC) it can't see - this is almost certainly a port forwarding or firewall problem.

I don't have a Soundbridge so can't offer specific advice. I assume you are using the supplied music server application? Have a look at the Soundbridge support site and see what it has to say about what ports it uses, though I'd have thought it is UPnP so should "just work". Have you turned off UPnP in the Sky router by any chance or customised the firewall rules?
