Glad you are sorted, just remember that you are breaking Sky's T and C's, but it would appear at the moment Sky are turning a blind eye.

That's fair enough. I suppose it would be sensible to keep a look out for when the new software is released, and be ready to reflash your router back to the official Sky firmware, so that it can upgrade itself. There's bound to be many posts here about it when it happens. The new Sky firmware may well be better than Netgear's latest standard release, as it's likely to have been specifically "tuned" to work well with Sky's Globespan DSLAMs.

Or at least we can hope it is…

Re: Router Flashed, ALL PROBS FIXED**

I updated mine months ago and even confirmed to Sky that the Netgear firmware had fixed the line disconnection problems I was getting. Before this Tier3 thought about limiting my line to 2MB. Since I have been syncing at between 6.5 and 7MB without problem.

If Sky release a firmware that works as well as the Netgear one then I will flash it back but until then I am staying with the Netgear firmware - with the approval of Sky too since the guy I spoke to confirmed it was OK to use that since the Sky firmware was known to be buggy.

Wow! That's quite an admission on his part.

Re: Router Flashed, ALL PROBS FIXED**

Maybe it was his last day there anyway.

I can imagine myself if it was my last day there. Rude customers would just be told to eff off and die. Stupid customer might get something like, "maybe you should just sell your PC and go back to using teletext on your TV." And customers having problems with their router would simply be told... gasp... the truth! lol
