      Re: Keep rebooting my router...

If i bought a router and flashed it then installed the netgear firmware on it this would solve the issue?
If you mean an ex-Sky router, yes, it may help, but there is no guarantee. If you mean a router from a retailer, you would not need to flash it at all, just enter your username and password.

There is not much more to say, you could try increasing your SNR using Mognuts, this will reduce your speed, but may stabilize your connection.

Yes, just set the figure you want, click the Set button and the router will re-sync. When you reboot the setting is removed. You can check that it has 'taken' by checking the Stats on the router configuration page.

Ok Thanks for that Isit, so I know that would be against the T&C's but as long as I stop getting disconnected.......

Also guys I've noticed something rather odd today: Went to work and left the pc on downloading something, when I get back some 10 hours later the Internet is still connected ( a first) however I am getting very poor speeds, much like the issue most users have on here.

Reboot the router - No fix. I notice that when I view my network connections I only see the connection between my pc and the router. (Usually when I am connected I see the connection between the router and the Internet also)

What could be causing this? I am connected to the net for sure as I am typing this now........ Dodgy.

Your SNR has probably dropped too low. The only thing you can do is keep rebooting your router until it gets up above about 7dbs. Doing this in the evening is said to be the best time to achieve a good figure. Your sync speed will drop, but it will probably not make much difference to the real world speed.

Despite multiple reboots couldn't get the connection icon back, although I got a good speed in the end.

Came home tonight, turned uPnP ON (so I can use BT effectivley) and the icon re-appeared instantly!

As others have pointed out, I would seriously doubt you are breaking the terms and conditions if you flash router. If you use a different router maybe.
How you use your sky router is down to you. It is your property under the contract.

There was another op that went in detail.

i think it's the router that is yours and the firmware is sky's,
either way if you use another router or flash your sky one you are breaking skys T&C's
