      Quick question regarding stats

      Hi there.

Just a quick question. I have seen in support threads on the site that people have posted stats from the router with line noise and loads of details about the state of the phone line etc etc. I cannot find where you get these stats from. I have looked through the router config page and cant find anything apart from the standard connection stats button.

How can I get the stats from my router?

      Many thanks

      Sorry.

I looked through all the stickies on the help and support section but missed the technical help section below it.

      Thanks.

      Re: Quick question regarding stats

I am going to get my detailed line stats tonight.

I have been on Sky for about 3-4 weeks now. The router syncs at 8mb ( I live about 3/4 miles at most from exchange, but speed test sites show I get around 48 to 5.5mb speeds. During the 10 day training period I was getting 6.5Mb. I use a wired connection as I had trouble with my wireless and have posted about my master socket which I now know has no problems as what I thought was a extension box wired into the main cable is actually a second line which has been disconnected by BT.

I shall post my stats sometime tomorrow and see whether any of you guys can see why I am not getting a higher download speed.

There is no 10 day training period for Mid - that only applies to Connect. Which are you on? Your Skyuser profile says Mid.

Whilst line problems can and do impact download speeds, that's not the most likely cause. Have you run TCPOptimizer?

      Re: Quick question regarding stats

I did run it on my wireless adaptor and it went from 1.5mb up the 5.2 odd I was getting with wired. I run it on the ethernet port and the settings in "optimal settings" were the same as what was in "current settings"

It just seems strange that I dropped from 6.5 down by about a meg after a week or so of first connecting.

Here are my stats. I tried a few other speed test sites and they were saying around 6.5mb so I think I may of just hit the other speed test site at a bad time.

If I was to upgrade to max would i get near 16Mb? Getting 6.5 from 8mb I think is pretty good so am considering going to max if I will get around 14Mb or so.
