      Exclamation The Wireless Woes!

      Hello there,

Been a Sky BB customer for around 2 weeks now and have finally had enough!

The Sky BB it self is great but the router... oh dear god!

First few days everything seemed to be ok, I made sure I was wired and, other than a few router reboots, it was all ok.

When I finally got round to sorting out the wireless for another computer that is impossible to have wired I nearly died!

This router cannot seem to keep a connection for more than a few mins!! The wireless would constantly drop in and out with the program saying 'Found the router but the internet is unaccesibale' when two seconds before I was browsing fine! It would also kick me off the network....

So I changed all the settings, changed WEP keys tried PSA, changed the channel but nothing helped!

I even tried turning off UPNP which I use on a daily basis... still nothing.

I have now gone back to my old Linksys WAG54GS and have NO problems since! I think I have had to reset the router once due to me changing a few settings...

Sky REALLY need to sort out thier router because even if you have a good connection on your line you can't always use it because of thier poo router!

I will admit tho, when I was running through wires it was a lot better but I still had a few router restarts or the router would lose the internet for no reason... I have NOT had this on this router.

To show that it's not my line! Fair enough I have a few errors but my router seems to be dealing with them! Makes me think if that's maybe what made the Sky router go **** up...

Anywho, my little rant over for the day

      Re: The Wireless Woes!

You're right - the Sky/Netgear router's wireless capacity/coverage etc is very disappointing. Lots of people seem to use alternatives (router/powerline etc). Lots of ideas here if you search.

yet another to add to the 'wireless is sh*t - avoid at all costs' list.....

i will NEVER use wireless personally and even went to the extent to wire my entire house for 3 PCs and have never had any issues whatsoever....
