Re: Ditch your sky router today !!!

Cheers Old Nick mate. I originaly had a long extension (upstairs / downstairs) because my phone line come into my bedroom, with that connected i couldn't connect to sky at all. (Always worked on aol though).
Anyway, i've had the bt socket off today, removed all the wires except 2&5 and my snr has gone up to 18 & the att to 25. I've ordered a new bt socket of ebay today, and i'll fit it as soon as it lands. I've noticed, that the plastic around connection 2 is brown, almost melted. Has anyone got an idea what may have caused this ??

something's not right there - gdmt shouldnt be used for anything over 8MB so they need to put u on ADSL2+ of set u to 8MB - preferably ADSL2+!!

I think you have to phone sky and tell them you have had your line had errors and it is now fixed, could they put you on ADSL2+. Getting through to T3 will probably be the difficult part.

Re: Ditch your sky router today !!!

      Hi
Can other routers work with it then??
Our Hard-wired router now works after a downgrade to 1.4MB from SKY.. but the wireless pc connection often drops, and is very slow.
I have been reading about the new 'N' wireless routers and would like to try one.
I know in the past when I tried my old Netgear router it wouldn't work with SKy.
Does anyone know if SKY will be upgrading the firmware?
      Thanks for any advice.
      Allison
