      Replacement Router From Sky

sky have sent me a replacement router (netgear) as before because my old router was naff and kept disconnecting

I have connected the leads etc from the old one and the new one has a different key which I have entered

although the router appears/shows to be connected via wireless I cannot access the internet

on the netgear configiration page it shows that sky is working normally but on the connect page it shows it is not connected

do I have to go through the same process using the cd rom as when I got my first router

my first router was set at channel 1 this new router is set at channel 6

You don't have to use the CD. Change the Channel to suit.

      Re: Replacement Router From Sky

alot of disconection problems have been down the internal wiring, not sure you would have known about this site when you had first router
(this sound patronizing but were you plugged into test socket with last router)

i know may have nothing to with this from your last router, but at least you could use again and see if any settings are diff from this router
