      Running a second PC off the Sky router???

      I have given up with a wireless connection I have now got a network cable plugged into one of the spare points on the back of the router and the other in the back of the pc.... I appear to have a local Area Con.... however the INTERNET wont connect.... do I need to change any settings do I need to load the sky software on the second PC?

      Try turning off the firewall on your PC temporarily, if you connect, your firewall settings need adjusted.

      Make sure the NIC on your 2nd PC is set up to "Acquire an IP address automatically".

      No you do not.
      And the Sky software can cause all kinds of problems.
      I use a PC and laptop simultaneously wired to the router
      - no problems.
      Try the suggestions in the two posts above instead.
