id assume he is in at least the master as i asked him to move it there last night but yeah, not long enuff to really see any issues.....

one thing i'll ask though is do u have the filter directly in the socket before anything else?

Re: Router problems or something else having problems

      Hi,

Sky Netgear DG834GT utility version 0.4

use the same utility that you used to get your stats with and set your noise margin to 10 to start with

let it re-sync then run it for half a day with lots of traffic (maybe torrentz) or video stream (you tube) then post stats again

looks like you are getting a few errors

upping the noise Ratio will lower sync but secure connection and actually speed things up (less packet will need re-sending)

      ISO

Just up the road about 400meters i think it is

My wife tried it around 11pm tonight and said it was fine for browsing as the past few nights she's had to reset it to view any pages at all.

So hopefully we're heading in the right direction i hope!

Re: Router problems or something else having problems

id say test socket is in need of trying, assuming you have one, as ur SNR is low to the point it'll give grief (eg, errors or connection drops).....however, let it go overnight doing something and it may show some more info up...

Well i have set it up (before coming out to work) on the master socket now and my wife said it seems alot better already?

I'l post the stats here tomorrow when i get in so you can reply while i'm sleeping.

It's not doing anything tonight but i'll set it up in the morning to do something and will also post the stats from that.

When you say the test socket is that the socket thats meant to be inside the master socket? Little worried there as i'm not good with wiring etc.. or is there a hidden socket there or should be there?

Would just like to say thanks to you guys for all the help so far. All i want is to sort this out so i don't have to keep resetting the modem all the time.

Also the office up stairs could well be the problem as my wife went around the house (only been there a few months) and it seems we have one the master socket in the dining room then that goes under the floor to the other side of the room to another telephone extension socket> then that goes outside and up the wall to the master bed room telephone extension socket> then that goes back out and around to the back of the house to the middle bed room to another telephone extension socket > then there's a 2 meter telephone extension socket to the corner of the room!

I'm thinking thats got to be causing some of the problems for me upstairs no?

Would i be best assumming that i still have problems with dropped connections using the master socket taking the telephone extension socket out of the first on. Then this will disconnect all the other ones around the house?

I can't gte over we have that many telephone extension socket through out the house!

Re: Router problems or something else having problems

does your master socket have a line disecting the front of the socket, with the screws/hole below it? If so, then the test socket is located inside it (to the right)...

      ^ like that...

using this test socket disconnects all other extentions in the house (they should be wired into the part of the faceplate that comes away so be careful) so if it stays stable there then the issue is with ur internal wiring...
