Angry Prob been asked 1000 times before but.......

I need HELP......................Hi My name is Howard and this is my first post (Hi ALL) I have just moved all my services from VM to Sky and up to now its been great, HD is awesome. Anyway I now have Sky max and have set the router up and connected to my PS3 to play games download etc. So when I connect everything is fine, I have done a speed test (From speedtest.net) and get at 18:00 about 9.5 meg which I'm fine with......................BUT when I come to download something it's slower than anything (Slower than Dail-up!!!) and now the internet light on my router flashes constantly (About 2 - 3 times a second).

I phoned sky Customer services and after being hung up on twice I finally spoke to someone they said it will take 5 days to get the full connection after your activation date. Is this true am I moaning about nothing!?!?!?!

Any info on the flashing Router or the Slow download would be great....

      Thanks.....

PS: I have rebooted the router and changed the Filter.

Hi Howard, welcome to the forums!

There is about 10 days of system instability as your connection settles to a reliable state.

It does sound a little odd that you are getting those speeds even though your speed test seems ok.

Can i suggest you download a large-ish file that sits on a decent server (for example an app from the Microsoft site)

You might want to post some stats from your router regarding speed, att., noise etc.

The 10 day period only applies to the connect product and not base/mid/max products.

You can only download as fast as the server you are downloading from. So if a speedtest site is giving you full speed, but another isn't, then it is down to poor performance from that server as opposed to anything you (or sky) can do.
