      BT Voyager 2500V ASDL Router

      Hi,

I have just switched to sky BB from BT but am having problems with the wireless connection to my mac book, it works fine on all my PC's. We had a BT Voyager 2500V ADSL router which worked perfect and never gave me any problems on the mac so what I want to do is see if I can reconfigue the bt router to work with my sky bb.

Does anybody know if this is possible?

I have had a quick play with it and it asks for a email address and password and when you enter a non bt email it says that it will only work with a BT account?

I was looking in to buying a netgear n router but am concerned I will have the same problems with the wireless siganl on the mac as I have with the current netgear router that sky supplied.

      Any help would be appericated.

      Cheers

      Lee

Re: BT Voyager 2500V ASDL Router

After some searching I found and flashed original manufacturer firmware for BT Voyager 2091 wireless router (Dynalink in Australia) -- I've a feeling yours is made by Thomsom so have a dig around the internet.

After flashing, mine showed Dynalink branding but the BT sign-in was still there -- I haven't tried to connect it to Sky but suspect you can just over-ride the sign-in (or maybe it needed a more serious reflash I came across involving a COM port to Ethernet adapter and, I think, machine code).

The Sky Netgear router isn't all that bad -- and shouldn't have a problem connecting with the Mac -- though people report that the wireless isn't as strong as other models.
