      Re: Using Mognuts

According to your skyuser profile you're on Connect. I'd strongly advise you not to use Mognuts on the Connect service - its interaction with the exchange based rate adaption could lead to unwanted (and difficult to reverse) detrimental effects.

Why do you feel the need to change the noise margin? Connect should adapt the connection to your line conditions to give the optimum for that service.

The problem I have is that when the noise margin drops below 7 the connection drops and reboots.
My thinking is that if I can set the noise margin to say a value of 9 then the connection should be stable albeit at a lower speed.

      Re: Using Mognuts

      Set it to 10.
Rebooted and it synched at 15050kbps and a nm of 7

I'm not too sure if I'm doing it correctly.

      Re: Using Mognuts

just for interest, what happens if you use mognuts util to set the mode to g.dmt? Does the stats show a change to g.dmt or still adsl2+?

ahhhh DONT REBOOT. That resets the router. Just set to 9db and let the router re-synce, you shouldn't reboot the router.

      Re: Using Mognuts

      ok. Thank you.
So I simply bring up the mognuts table.
Change the nm to 9 using the drop down menu and leave it.
How does it do anything and when does it do it?

      Re: Using Mognuts

change to 9db and press the set button (enter the Username of admin and password of sky if the box comes up and press ok), then leave for a couple of mins whilst it re-syncs.

If you then go to 192.168.0.1 and keep refreshing the router status, you will know when it has finished re-synchinh.

It does it all in background.
