Given these stats should I be asking to move on to ASDL2 ?

I've a really solid connection except on an evening it slows right down and requires a reboot. Other than that my WAN connection is fine.

Just wondered if you guys think I should push for an ADSL2 connection.

Sorry for asking but I just don't understand them.

Your router has only been up for 10 minutes which isn't long enough to evaluate the line, you need a good few hours of hard usage to see if any errors build up, you have a few CRC's already.

Re: Given these stats should I be asking to move on to ASDL2 ?

CRC errors are line errors, piece's of corrupt data which have to be retransmitted, the more of them the slower your connection will be because the equipment is busy retransmitting everything all the time. Ideally CRC's should not exceed 0.1% of the SF "Superframes" transmitted. Cant tell from his stats yet he needs a few hours worth to see whats going on.

^^^^^^^^ beat me to it - lol

CRC = Cyclic Redundancy Check. This is basically a transmission error. If as koala says there are a lot after using your connection for a while then you may have a problem with your internal wiring. Check the cabling / faceplate section for some useful pointers.

Re: Given these stats should I be asking to move on to ASDL2 ?

stats for 24 hours + are best m8, also give the router some work to do ie some downloading etc. The sf needs to show a figure of a few millions.

Re: Given these stats should I be asking to move on to ASDL2 ?

Well look ok so far but as above, longer period with heavy usage would be best. Also just a thought have you turned off uPNP on the front page of the router menu, its a known issue.
