      Early signs of router failure?

Hi. What are the early signs of router failure? I ask as since Saturday morning I have had no reliability. The router will take anything upto an hour to connect fully (as in stay on for more than 5 secs). It's actually on now so thats hnow I'm writing this. During the day once it connects fully it will stay on for hours but doesn't seem to want to connect in the nights. I've tested new cabling, filters, even from the test socket behind the master and no difference. Since I've tried the test socket I'm thinking its either the router, phone socket or sky's equipment at the exchange. anyone help or recommendations appreciated. Sky are making me wait 5 days for tier 3.. surprise surprise!

Given the recent weather, maybe it's just overheating -- try using the little feet to mount it vertically.

My normal sync speed is just over 3.5mb however today i notice I am at just over 2mb with my noise margin today at 14db during daytime. Sky have clearly done something and i hope now my connection issues are now over despite the speed loss. The last 5 days have been very annoying so I'm prepared to accept the speed loss.. I am only paying 5 a month afterall

it could be router failure - you could try calling tier 1 as they can check the fault board (if need be give them your exchange code incase they're being a bit dense and can't find it)
