      Sky & PC conflict?

I have a PC and Sky broadband.
When I boot up the PC, it freezes if Sky broadband is plugged in (via Ethernet).
If I boot up the PC and then power up the Sky box, it all works OK.
Can anyone assist me - I would like to avoid having to constantly switch on/off the router.
      Many Thanks
      John

It could also be a faulty network adapter, or at the very least bad drivers. Try obtaining the latest drivers for your network card from the manufacturer, then go to the Device Manager and uninstall it. Reboot your PC and if Windows wants to install drivers Click Cancel. Then go to the Device Manager, find the NIC, open its Properties and click Reinstall Driver, point it to the driver you have downloaded. Windows over the past few years have released some really duff drivers for network cards, sometimes they work and at others they cause nothing but problems.
