Sky router, does it work with other providers?

      Hi there!

I have a spare sky router, and want to use it in another house, I wondered if I could use this router with other broadband providers, or is it exclusive to sky broadband only?

If it is exclusive, surely there is a way around it?

      Many thanks

If you search for "sky router other isp" or similar in the skyuser google box there's a good few references to this. Most seem to say no.

It can be done but involves flashing the firmware back to the netgear version. Instructions can be found here http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/view-flash.html and proceed with caution if you make a mistake it can result in a knackered router. Also its against Skys T&C's.

Thank you Koala5, I was pretty certain it was locked but had a feeling there would be a little hack around somewhere.
