      Re: Router troubles.

by plugging into the test socket it means that all extension cabling is bypassed and therefore reduces interference and gives a better quality adsl signal (you should have noticed that your extension sockets have not been working since taking the faceplate off).

by plugging into the master socket, the adsl signal is fed to the router after the extension cabling and thus has interference.

an adslnation faceplate fileters the adsl signal before the extension cabling, but allows the extension cabling to still be connected. As it also include the adsl filter it removes the need for having a micro filter attached to each device with a phone socket/modem.

      Re: Router troubles.

Howdy, I'm back from a short holiday Before I went, after following the stuff you mentioned, my router was only disconnecting once every 24 hours, and was working brilliantly. But now that i'm back, it's disconnecting itself every hour (I have realised that it's the router disconnecting more than the wireless itself, sorry for the misinformation). Any ideas on how to stop it disconnecting still? after changing the router settings to what it said in the 'router freezing? possible fix' thread.

Will buying the stuff you recommended fix the disconnections? Cheers.

It's still in the test socket btw.

Most definetely, I can screenshot if you wish

The box that says 'Turn UPnP on' is unticked.

EDIT: I've also noticed that everytime my router reboots itself, I have to re-enter the network key again :x

You could try a reset of the router by pushing a pin into the reset hole on the back of the router or try re-flashing with the sky firmware.

I've read on here that to reset you need the router to be on & only have the power cable in?

      Re: Router troubles.

Rebooting, because after 20 seconds or so I can reconnect.
