      opening ports

Ive just got sky broadband - not quite happy with the way things are going.

I've tried to open port 21 for a computer of mine on the ADSL Router. However I am unable to connect to it from the outside. I know the public IP Address, but it just fails to recieve a response after its connected. This was working fine with my previous ISP (cable broadband and using my old router)

I'm also experiencing slow downloads, and I am on the 16MB connection but should be getting up to 8MB downloads but only getting around 1MB

      Whats happening? is this normal?

Have a read of this to make sure you have set the port forwarding properly.

How to set up port forwarding to an internal server of any type

I'm having the same issue trying to open port 3784 for a ventrilo server, or any port for that matter
