      Router dropping connection regularly

      Hi there

My router has been working fine for a few weeks but towards the end of last week the speed of the connection seemed to get gradually slower and over the weekend it was losing connection regularly and this afternoon it has been abysmal. It has not been staying connected for more than a minute.

I did wonder if it was overheating and have had a fan blowing on it for a while but it didn't seem to make any difference

I have UPnP unchecked and have Auto 108Mbps set to on.

For a time I couldn't even get into the router panel.

I have performed numerous reboots, both cold and warm, and the connection has been up for the past 10 minutes which is longer than it has been up all afternoon.

Does anyone else have these problems?

How are you connected, wirless or wired. My wireless connection was all over the place yesterday so in the end I went back to wired and haven't had any more problems. Apart from two disconnections on Saturday (neither of which I was aware of at the time) I have gone over a week with good speeds and no random dropouts.

      Re: Router dropping connection regularly

      I have a wireless connection.

However I could access the Network Attached Storage that I have plugged into the router when I couldn't access the internet.

Also, the internet light kept going out on the router, so I don't think the wireless connection is the problem
