      Hardwired or Wireless

Hi, Iím new here and hoping you can help me with a small question.

I am seriously thinking of switching my broadband to Sky but am a bit weary of the wireless aspect. I have had wireless internet before and had nothing but hassle. I currently access the internet by Ethernet cable, so if I was to switch to Sky could I continue to access the internet but Ethernet (through the wireless router) or would I have to use it wireless.

      Many thanks

      Jo

You don't HAVE to go wireless. The router comes with an ethernet cable so it's up to you to chose which you want to use. If you don't want to go wireless, then just go into the router and switch wireless off as it comes with it set to on as default.

      Re: Hardwired or Wireless

      Morning Jo,

      Welcome to the community,

It is generally felt that you will always get a better connection over wired than wireless, it all depends if you only want to surf etc wireless would be fine, but if you want your connection for gaming, or things that require a stable connection and constant connection then wired is the key.

Wireless links can be known to just drop out for no reason. wired never will

      Hope this helps

      Pete
