Anyone successfully set up a network on sky?

I'm trying to network 2 PC's. I've tried the Windows XP Network set Up Wizard to no avail. Both PC's are connected to the internet via the Netgear router supplied by Sky but I can't get them to recognise each other?

I've turned off all firewalls and anti-virus software and it still will not set up a network. I've tried pinging each computer and this hasn't worked.

Any suggestions....or settings from a router that's successfully networked two or more pc's would be most welcome.

      Thanks
      C
PS I'm using a wired connection as both pc's sit side by side.

Re: Anyone successfully set up a network on sky?

Both PC's are XPs? Are they both the same e.g, Home Edition?

Are they on the same "Workgroup"? Follow - XP/Vista: View and change the computer name, domain, and workgroup settings - Tech-Recipes.com and make sure they are on e.g, HOME

Wether that is setup or not, They should be able to ping each other, As you have disabled all firewalls.

Also, Make sure you are Pinging the right IPs, If it helps, http://192.168.0.1/setup.cgi?todo=nb...le=devices.htm will show what they are using.
